Garden lights investigated

Sally had noticed the garden lights weren't working. Worked through a few possible causes before finding it — the LED sockets had corroded and worn out. The worn sockets still need to be purchased and replaced.

Rock delivery and more asset protection

Delivery of igneous habitat rocks arrived on site for the ecological garden. Picked up additional asset protection materials ahead of continued works.

English ivy and apple tree removed

Removed English ivy (Hedera helix) from the fence line, and a Malus (apple tree) from the garden bed, clearing the way for the new planting layout.

Mini loader hired, site protected

Picked up the Kanga mini loader from the hire depot. Purchased and laid asset protection materials across the grassed areas on site ahead of machine work, to keep the lawn from being damaged during excavation.

Mini loader booked

Booked a mini loader for hire, available from next Tuesday (7 July), to move through the remaining removal work.

Skip bin delivered

Accepted delivery of a 6m³ skip bin on site for the removal waste.

Bulbs lifted and heeled in

Removed the existing bulbs from the bed and relocated them to a holding spot on site, ready for replanting once the new layout goes in.

Removing brick edging and onion grass

Early-stage site preparation. New soil will be imported and machinery sourced for the remaining removal work. For now, onion grass is being cleared manually by hand.
